While summer is the season for festivals, that doesn't mean it's the only time you can enjoy one. Big names like Electric Zoo, Lollapalooza and Governor's Ball may grab all the attention, but there are so many others around the country (not to mention in the rest of the world) that are worthy of checking out if you have the time.
Sacramento's TBD Festival is making a big push this year to become another great American music festival, stepping out of the shadows of other big California events like Coachella and Outside Lands. While it is still relatively unknown -- even to those in the Golden State -- with a name change (it was previously known as Launch) and a lineup to match any in it's class, as well as yoga, fashion events and some of the best local food available, the thousands of people who will turn up this coming weekend are sure to enjoy themselves.
While headliners like Blondie, Moby and Justice will grab headlines, there are dozens of other incredibly talented artists on the bill as well. The best part of a music festival is discovering new music, and I've chosen twelve of my personal favorites that I'm excited to see while in Sacramento. You should check them out too:
Viceroy - "The Life (ft. Penguin Prison)"
Blackalicious - "Make You Feel That Way"
Goldroom - "Embrace"
Nick Waterhouse - "This Is A Game"
French Horn Rebellion - "Caaalifornia (ft. Bebe Panthere & Ghost Beach)"
Mainland - "Wasted"
Zak Waters - "Runnin Around"
Flashlights - "Don't Take Me Seriously"
Carousel - "Another Day"
Kauf - "Relocate"
RAC - "Cheap Sunglasses (ft. Matthew Koma)"
Alexx Adam - "Smells Like Loose Jumping Animals"
