Video killed the radio star decades ago, and as we often find out, premature buzz can kill a hyped film, television show, and/or band. In the case of emerging indie rockers Knox Hamilton you can, to quote Public Enemy, "believe the hype." Coming off a hit alt-rock single ("Work it Out"), the Little Rock, AR band have quickly displaced Knox Jolie-Pitt as the most talked about "Knox" in all the land. Consisting of brothers Boots and Cobo Copeland, Brad Pierce, and Drew Buffington, the foursome have been hitting the road (not literally because, as we know, hitting concrete often leads to injury), and gaining new fans by the baker's dozen per hour (at least I've heard it's that many).
From Primary Wave Music's A-Sides Studio in New York City, Knox Hamilton performed a pair of songs off their soon-to-be released full-length album, and sat down for a chat afterwords. Filmed by shootmepeter.com, you'll see and hear first hand why I truly believe this band is poised for great things. Watch, listen, and thank me in the morning. I'm listed in the White Pages in 1986.

A-Sides "Delve Into Twelve" Countdown
Each week A-Sides unleashes its Top 12 tracks of the week AKA the "Delve Into Twelve"based on the following contributing factors: songs I'm playing out that particular week NO MATTER WHEN THEY WERE RELEASED (think overlooked songs, unreleased tracks, and old favorites), songs various publicists are trying to get me to listen to that I did and dug a bunch, posts and trends I've noticed on my friends' Facebook walls, and -- most importantly -- the songs my two-year-old-plus son gravitates toward by stomping his feet in approval. Yeah, you read that right. This weeks follows below (LW= last week's rank).
12. "Lullabye" (retro cut) - The Dixie Chicks
11. "Iris" (LW-11) - U2
10. "Crazy for You" (LW-8) - Scars on 45 (Watch their exclusive A-Sides performance here!)
9. "Champions of Red Wine" (LW-10) - The New Pornographers
8. "O" (LW-9) - Coldplay
7. "The Business Of Emotion" (debut) - Big Data (feat. White Sea)
6."Inside Out" (LW-4) - Spoon
5. "Beggin For Thread" (LW-2) - Banks
4. "Something From Nothing (LW-6) - Foo Fighters
3. "Da Vinci" (LW-5) - Weezer

About A-Sides Music
Jon Chattman's "A-Sides Music" series was established in August 2011 and usually features artists (established or not) from all genres performing a track, and discussing what it means to them. This informal series focuses on the artist making art in a low-threatening, extremely informal (sometimes humorous) way. No bells, no whistles -- just the music performed in a random, low-key setting followed by an unrehearsed chat. In an industry where everything often gets overblown and over manufactured, I'm hoping this is refreshing. Artists have included: fun, Courtney Love, Air Supply, Bastille, Vance Joy, Alice Cooper, Echosmith, Charli XCX, Jake Miller, American Authors, Cold War Kids, Imagine Dragons, Gary Clark Jr., and more! A-Sides theme written and performed by Blondfire.
